My family and I recently welcomed a female pup, Annie, from the Britta/Benz litter from North Mountain Kennels. To say we are thrilled with our experience would be a huge understatement. We heard of Audrey and her operation through another satisfied customer review, so we began with perusing her website. Her site was extremely informational and easy to navigate. We found that all information listed on her site was completely accurate and true to our experience (no surprises!). When we first reached out to Audrey she was prompt with a response, as well as extremely professional. Her knowledge and expertise in regards to responsible breeding practices, training, and animal behavior was evident and has continued to be displayed throughout the entire process. When it came time to pick the perfect puppy for us, Audrey was warm and welcoming of us in her home. She clearly takes pride in the environment the dogs live in, as she has provided them with a warm, clean, and nurturing home to be raised in. She took the time to discuss each puppies observed traits that she thought would be positive or negative fits in our home. She was patient with us as we discussed each dog at length and allowed us to really get to know the animals. Additionally, she was extremely patient with my 4 year old who had tagged along for the adventure; answering questions and engaging with him on his level.
After we selected Annie, Audrey was absolutely amazing with providing almost daily updates, photos, and videos of the training process. We decided to have Annie stay for a 4 week training program, Audrey’s amazing “Turn Key Puppy” program, and we are so glad we did. Annie was able to be socialized with other dogs from her litter, as well as learn so many basic skills, ensuring that we she arrived to us she would have a solid foundation to build from. Audrey is amazing at keeping you updated on your dogs progress. She takes them out in public to socialize, works on crate training, house training, obedience commands, and so much more. We were able to learn so many new skills that we now have taken home with us and continue with Annie. Furthermore, Audrey was so patient with us during the 4 weeks of training. She gave us tips and information that we could use when we got home. She would text with us whenever we had a questions, she offered advice on behavior, and nutrition. I never wondered how Annie was doing, because Audrey made us feel like we were right there with her.
When it was time to pick Annie up, we were given an extensive and impressive set of instructions that included all the information one could need in order to know exactly who their dog is. There were not only instructions about her current schedule, but also recommendations for food, bedding, leashes; she took the guess work out of what can be a very overwhelming experience. The most important part of picking up Annie was that Audrey made it clear that she is here for us at all times, whenever we need her. She is a breeder who will be available to answer any questions and offer support. We have been keeping Audrey updated on Annie’s progress, and she has helped us work through several environmental adjustments as Annie acclimates to a house of 5 people. It’s important to note that Annie arrived in our home completely as advertised ! No surprise health or behavioral issues, she is exactly what she was claimed to be, a beautiful and SMART working-line dog of exquisite pedigree.
If you are on the fence on whether or not to call North Mountain Kennels, here’s your sign, do it. You will not be disappointed! She has a stellar operation, and it is clear she loves her animals and takes pride in the success of her program. We will definitely be back again in a few years when we expand our pack! Audrey’s program is exactly what you want when looking for an experienced and reputable breeder. We’re so grateful to have found her and look forward to her guidance in the coming years.
